Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Sharia communication ethics in the production processes of the Sport Today and Live Studio MotoGP programs at MNC Channels. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation during an internship, documentation (specifically program scripts), and a literature review concerning Islamic communication ethics and broadcasting media. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Sharia communication ethics principles have been applied in the program production process, particularly the principle of qaulan sadidan (truthful and accurate speech) through the verification of information from official sources prior to broadcast. Furthermore, the principles of qaulan balighan (effective and impactful speech) and qaulan maysura (gentle and easy-to-understand speech) are reflected in the drafting of scripts that are informative, communicative, and accessible to the audience. However, the application of the qaulan ma’rufan principle (kind and appropriate speech) faces challenges due to media industry demands that encourage the use of dramatic and sensational language to enhance program appeal. Production deadline pressures also hinder the optimization of the information verification process. The study concludes that Sharia communication ethics values remain relevant and applicable to sports program production in modern broadcasting media. Implementing Islamic communication principles can foster content that is not only engaging and informative but also socially and morally responsible. Therefore, a stronger commitment from media practitioners and broadcasting institutions is required to sustainably integrate Sharia communication ethics values into the content production process.
